Women in trade - October 2000
AmCham Egypt's Successful Career
Women Committee hosted a special luncheon and roundtable discussion
with members of the "Women in Trade" Business Development
Mission from the United States on October 1.
The U.S. mission involved 11 American
companies: Anitas International; Capitol Hill Building Maintenance
Inc.; Diversified Trade Co. LLC; Edward E. Vickers and Associates; E's
& Associates; Human Resources Consulting Network Inc.; Nova
Research; Rita L. Ferral Consulting; Royal Soap Co. Inc.; Tyres 2000
Limited; and USA East Associates. The industrial, real estate, health
services, manufacturing and technology sectors were represented within
the delegation.
Discussions centered on business
opportunities for U.S. companies in the Egyptian market and the key role
of women in business today. Each delegate discussed her personal
experiences in establishing businesses and shared with the audience
her aspirations for the future.
The American Business Development
Mission, the first trade mission of its kind in the region, began a
tour of the African continent in Cairo on October 1. The mission was
led by the director general of the U.S. Commercial Service and supported
by the Commercial Office of the U.S. embassy in Cairo. Distinguished
female representatives from AmCham Egypt's membership and board also
attended the luncheon.
