Social Fund for Development
The Social Fund for Development (SFD) was originally established in 1991 as a social safety net when the Egyptian government undertook major economic reforms. Today, it is a semi-governmental agency that receives funding from an array of international donors as well as the Egyptian government to help alleviate poverty and create employment opportunities for start-up entrepreneurs by providing credit, technical assistance, and skills. Its major activities include developing and financing small enterprises, including advancing the franchise sector by funding individual projects.

U.S. Commercial Service Egypt
The U.S. Commercial Service operates through a network of American and Egyptian trade specialists to promote U.S. commercial interests abroad. It provides assistance to American exporters and Egyptian importers, including potential franchisors and franchisees in Egypt. The commercial service helps facilitate American franchises wanting to break into the Egyptian market.

Egyptian Franchise Development Association
The Egyptian Franchise Development Association (EFDA) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization representing the license and franchise industry in Egypt. It was formed in 2001 to encourage entrepreneurship through franchising and licensing and to promote awareness and knowledge of the commercial franchise system through developing small enterprises, exchanging technical know-how among franchisors, offering a database of the franchise industry, and being a liaison between local stakeholders. EFDA is a member of the World Franchise Council.

International Franchise Association
The International Franchise Association (IFA) is a membership organization of franchisors, franchisees, and suppliers. IFA provides members and guests with the most complete information on franchising. The association offers a wide range of services in three district areas: 1) how to find a franchise out of 1,200 opportunities, help acquiring a franchise, and how to find a consultant; 2) how to become a member of the franchise community offering events, government advocacy on behalf of franchises in the U.S., and educational resources; and 3) the basics of franchising and research on the industry.
